Statement of Purpose


PFC. Devin K. Peguero-Cardenas an Army Ranger, was assigned to Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in August 2004. On December 16, 2004, during a training exercise at Fort Lewis, Washington, he was accidentally shot and killed by another soldier.

His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Parachutist Badge. As a Ranger, he distinguished himself as a member of the Armys premier light infantry unit and worked diligently to uphold the honor of the Ranger Regiment.

In an ongoing commitment to the sacrifice and dedication, Devin gave to his country; his family has elected to memorialize him through the establishment of the PFC. DEVIN K.P. CARDENAS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION.
The primary objective of this foundation is to honor Devin and not forget the ultimate sacrifice of freedom.


The foundation will provide a scholarship program for military personnel, their children and grandchildren. Provide a general relief fund for the purpose of assisting Ranger families in times of need, and to assist the C. Co. 75th Ranger Regiment Fort Lewis, WA. while on deployment.

The PFC. DEVIN K.P. CARDENAS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION is established as strictly a non-profit organization, for the benefit of our militarys on going sacrifice, for liberty and justice for all.
